On December 1, the La Jolla Alumnae Chapter joined the Zeta Mu girls for a party to kick off the holiday season. Snaps to Karina for welcoming us into her lovely new home for the occasion. The collegians made some delicious holiday treats including these adorable reindeer cupcakes! Kristina, Jessica and Barbara really got into the spirit by wearing their Christmas sweaters. Nothing says holiday party like a classic Christmas sweater. We watched the Dr Seuss tale, How the Grinch Stole Christmas. It brought back memories of my own collegiate chapter tradition of watching it every year around this time. The best part of the evening was the ornament exchange. Everyone brought a variety of ornaments including handmade treasures, a tinsle mini tree, a glitter covered dinosaur, a giant sparkle dove, a gold dog with tutu and many Sigma Kappa decorated designs. One thing is certain; we have quite the creative bunch. Some serious stealing went on during the game which always makes it more exciting and gave us plenty to laugh about. Michelle (the Zeta Mu VPAR and newly elected EVP) did a wonderful job planning the event. I love how we can all get together, both collegians and alumnae, to have so much fun. Events like these remind me that Sigma Kappa is more than just something I was a part of in college.
